Lawsuit Claims J&J Shampoo Causes Hair Loss

Suit blames DMDM hydantoin in OGX hair care formulas, including shampoos and conditioners.

An Illinois consumer has filed suit against Johnson & Johnson, claiming its OGX hair care products cause hair loss. Specifically, the suit blames DMDM Hydantoin for the damage.  “At least one ingredient in the products, DMDM hydantoin, is a formaldehyde donor known to slowly leave formaldehyde when coming into contact with water,” the lawsuit states.
